Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Lifespan Health offers patients a range of hyperbaric modalities and pressures to insure the ideal treatment parameters for the condition being treated.
You can be assured that your sessions are being managed by a physician who has extensive training in and knowledge of hyperbaric oxygen therapies over a wide-range of clinic indications.

Hyperbaric Therapy
Oxygen Delivered Under Pressure
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment.
This therapy enhances oxygen delivery to tissues, healing and recovery from various conditions.
By increasing the oxygen levels in the body, HBOT supports the natural healing process and can lead to improved overall health.
Multiple Pressure Options
1.3-1.5 ATA for head injuries, concusions, sleep disturbance, health optimization

2 ATA ideal pressure for cancer, chronic infections, environmental toxicities

3 ATA hospital-grade hyperbaric treatments for chronic wounds, sports injuries
Conditions Treated with HBOT
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a used as a treatment modality for a wide variety of chronic health conditions, and also as a tool to enhance cognition and physical performance.

At Lifespan Health our clinicians use HBOT in treatment protocols to address such conditions as...

-
Cancer
-
Chronic Infections--including Lyme and tickborne co-infections
-
Head injury--concussions, TBI
-
Stroke
-
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
-
Insomnia
-
Sports Injuries
-
Long-COVID

.
and to enhance and optimize...

-
Athletic performance
-
Cognitive acuity
-
Endurance
-
Sleep
The HBOT Procedure
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is performed in consecutive and cumulative sessions or "dives" with each session making incremental improvements in cellular and systemic health.

Each dive follows the following sequence:

Your medical history is reviewed by the Lifespan Health clinician, to assure you are a good candidate for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Then our Hyperbaric Technician reviews your orders and gets you comfortable in the hyperbaric chamber, and starts the procedure.

Pressures is gradually increased, as you breath oxygen via a mask, until the prescribed pressure (1.4 to 2.0 ATA) is achieved.

Treatment continues at the prescribed pressure for a period of 30-60 minutes, during which you continue receive oxygen via mask. During this period you may read, sleep or meditate.

Then pressure is gradually decreased until the chamber pressure equals the exterior pressure. The technician assures you feel well and answers any questions.

Sessions are continued daily or several times/week depending on your prescribed treatment plan.

Questions & Answers
Is HBOT covered by insurance?
While certain conditions are reimbursable, the health conditions we treat at Lifespan Health generally are not. If requested we will provide you with a superbill, detailing the procedure and diagnosis.
How many HBOT sessions will I need?
The HBOT treatments are cumulative, with improvement seen incrementally over a series of dives--anywhere from 20-40+. You will collaborate with your Lifespan Health clinician for recommendations specific to your condition and treatment protocol.
Is the hyperbaric oxygen therapy procedure safe?
HBOT treatments are very safe. Since clinic-based chambers are pressurized with medical air rather than 100% oxygen, the combustion risks are eliminated. Of course, you will discuss indications and contraindications with your Lifespan Health clinician to assure that this treatment will be both safe and appropriate for you.
